Visa Requirements for Your Trip
Many countries require Visas. A Visa is a stamp that goes into your passport, and some countries like Australia can also do an electronic Visa. A Visa allows a country to know more about you and what you will be doing while on their soil; they also wish to receive a fee for entrance into their country. Visas vary in duration. Some countries such as China will only grant a 3 month Visa the first time you apply to visit their country but will offer a one year Visa if all goes well with your first visit. Fees for Visas vary country to country. Many countries do not require a Visa and will simply agree to a passport check at Immigration.

Some countries like Egypt will require American visitors to purchase a Visa with distinctions between a Tourist Visa, a Business Visa or an “Other” Visa. The U.S.A. and Canada do not require Visas at all for citizens of most countries. Visas may also be another way for countries to earn money. It would be true to say that some countries are friendlier and more trusting to citizens of certain countries, favoring them and not favoring other visitors.
