Information at Your Fingertips-Without the Glitches!
Our Smartphones and electronic devices have become indispensable to us, however, what do we do when we cannot charge our devices? What do we do when they are misplaced or lost on the road? We lose our ability to utilize the information if technology fails us, and often it does.
It is always a good idea to keep a little book with you when out of town and out of pocket. I list all of my flight references such as record locaters and flight times in my little book. If electricity (not to mention the ability to convert electricity in other countries) fails, I still retain my necessary information. In fact, I keep copies of my e-tickets in my smart Phone but don’t need to turn on the phone to see my record locater or flight time; this simple act increases efficiency a lot!
There are other things I like to keep in this little book. Here are a few:
- Hotel information, Reservation #’s, amenities I pre-paid, so I can recall at check in
- Travel insurance information
- Emergency Information
- Currency Conversion Charts I make myself
- Some useful emails and phone numbers
- Some passwords that I may need on the road
- Expected temperatures of all the places I will visit with Celsius conversions
- The list of places I will visit and what I want to accomplish in each place
- Shopping list of what I intend to buy
The little book helps me to organize my thoughts and intentions as well as needed information. I can refer to it at times when I cannot get a Wi-Fi signal or when a flight is restricting use of personal devices like phones and computers. Having a backup just makes sense!
